ABOUT CHARLES
house
Charles House provides daytime care for older
adults with mild to moderate impairments as well as respite for their families.
Participation in the Charles House program supports the functioning of
participants, many with various levels of dementia, through
life-enriching activities and social involvement. Family caregivers also
find respite and support for the demands of providing care for aging
loved ones at home.
At Charles House we believe that everyone aims to:
-
have some control over everyday events
-
feel useful to those around us
-
derive satisfaction from constructive activity
-
be involved in the community
-
have meaningful social relationships
-
maximize all our abilities
We emphasize that
participants should be active according to their capabilities and needs.
We also emphasize involving families,
especially during admission and goal planning. Families are encouraged to
visit Charles House to learn about our program.
